Gold Medals and Scholarships for Students
Gold Medals for BLISc Students:
The ‘Gopal Krishan Medal’ in Library Science was awarded to the student of the Bachelor of Library and Information Science (B.L.I.Sc.) course of the Department, who secures the highest marks with first division in every academic year.
The Gopal Krishan Medal for the academic year 2021–2022 was conferred to three students, namely Ms. Puja Chauhan, Ms. Shweta Sharma, and Ms. Kunika Jangwal (left to right in the photograph), in the 99th Annual Convocation of the University of Delhi on February 25, 2023.
Gold Medal for MLISc Students:
- The Prof. S. Das Gupta Memorial Gold Medal in Library Science is awarded each year to a candidate who obtained the highest CGPA among the successful candidates at the Master of Library and Information Science (M.L.I.Sc.) Examination of the University of Delhi with first division.
- The Prof. S. Das Gupta Memorial Gold Medal for the year 2023 was conferred to Mr. Rishikant Singh (Roll No. 22206783039 with CGPA – 7.750) in the 100th Convocation of the University of Delhi on February 24, 2024.
- The Prof. S. Das Gupta Memorial Gold Medal for the year 2022 was conferred to Mr. Mohammed Havas K. V. in the 99th Convocation of the University of Delhi on February 25, 2023.
S. S. Saith Memorial Scholarship
The scholarship of the value of Rs. 600/- per month shall be awarded to a student who secured first class and first position in the B.L.I.Sc. Examination of the University of Delhi and joins the M.L.I.Sc. course. If the first student does not join, the scholarship may be awarded to the next eligible student strictly in order of merit in every academic year.
ILA – Vendanikee Fellowship
The ILA–Vendanikee Fellowship was instituted by Mrs. V. K. Sundaram, formerly Reader, DLIS, University of Delhi. The award is given every year to a student who secured the highest marks in the qualifying examination and is admitted to the B.L.I.Sc. course of the Department, University of Delhi. The award carries Rs. 1000/- only.
