Welcome to DLIS Library. The Departmental Library is offering many information services to its bonafide students, faculty, and staff as follows:
Online Public Access of Catalogue (OPAC)
OPAC is the finest and most authentic medium of telling about the exact location of documents. OPAC is available for books & databases (theses, dissertations, and project reports) of the department. Click here for searching books.
Reference Service
This section mainly provides the facility to consult books, MLISc project reports, M.Phil. dissertations, etc., which cannot be issued. Other reference services include Current Awareness Services (CAS) and SDI.
Circulation
This section deals with the issue/return of the textbooks. Issue and Return Timings of Textbooks on Weekdays:
- Return of Books: 09.30 a.m. to 1.00 p.m.
- Issue of Books: 02.30 p.m. to 4.30 p.m.
- Reservation of books
- Students may get the books reserved by filling out the demand slip. These books are reserved for the subsequent day. However, before filling out the demand slip, students are advised to check the availability of books in the library from the circulation counter.
Internet Searching
An internet searching facility is available for its members. Two computer terminals are provided for the same, with a dedicated internet connection. This helps the students search online resources of the library, especially e-journals and databases of library and information science.
Inter Library Loan
The library also has an interlibrary loan service to better meet the user's demands because no library can acquire all types of resources in different formats.
